The Luxe Nomad Expands Hokkaido Chalet Portfolio with Yuki Drift as Demand for Multigenerational, Long-Stay Travel Increases
Bookings Rise 50% Year-on-Year as Families and Groups Seek Privacy, Space, and Connection
30 APRIL 2026, HOKKAIDO, JAPAN: Picture waking up to views of snowy landscapes followed by breakfast on your own schedule. Teenagers sleep in while grandparents are sipping matcha in the morning quiet. Transition to the slopes with ease, suiting up in your own ski and boot room before returning home for a private onsen soak. Then wind down for the evening beside a crackling fire and an unhurried dinner, all with a dedicated butler at your side making your stay as effortless as possible.
This is what a standard stay looks like in chalets by The Luxe Nomad, an alpine sanctuary all to yourself where multiple generations can relax at the same time, each claiming their own space, routine and version of what a vacation means.
Corniche Hirafu: The $10.5M Chalet that Buys Peace of Mind
Leading The Luxe Nomad’s chalet booking growth, Corniche Hirafu on Niseko’s Millionaires’ Row, closed this winter season with a record breaking $1M+ USD in sales — a notable feat in Niseko’s competitive chalet market. The 580 sqm haven, designed by renowned architect Riccardo Tossani, blends modern luxury with nature, featuring floor-to-ceiling mountain views, a private onsen, sauna, cold plunge, rooftop terraces and multiple living areas. Thoughtful additions such as a winter butler, concierge and exclusive chauffeur service create a seamless guest experience.
New to The Luxe Nomad: Yuki Drift
With an increasing preference for chalets and bookings of 30-40 nights, The Luxe Nomad introduces Yuki Drift, a new six-bedroom chalet just a two-minute drive from central Hirafu. Set within a forested onsen estate, the chalet accommodates up to 14 guests with a private onsen supplied with natural spring water.
Guests are treated to the calming scent of cedar wood when they enter. The architecture unfolds across two floors, where the second has a double-height living area with leather sofas and Yoshitomo Nara artworks. An open kitchen with a breakfast island for casual morning gatherings and a dining area made for relaxed après-ski meals means no rushing and no reservations are required.
A Portfolio Curated for Every Travel Style
Across Hokkaido, The Luxe Nomad now manages 10 chalets each with their own unique character.
Tsubasa Chalet, named Japan’s Best Ski Chalet 2024 at the World Ski Awards, features dedicated butler Patrick dela Cruz, who trained under Josephine Ive - one of the UK’s first female butlers who served Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Expect your tea preference to be anticipated before you've even mentioned it, and your ski boots warmed by 8am without asking.
Located in Hanaridge Estate, Niseko, Tsubasa features panoramic Mount Yotei views, a private indoor-outdoor onsen, and elevated amenities including a grand piano where a pianist can be arranged for a private performance.
Meigetsu Aki Niseko, designed by leading Japanese interior architecture firm Nomura, is a four-bedroom chalet set just steps from the slopes in Upper Hirafu, one of the few luxury chalets adjacent to the ski lifts. The top floor serves as a private wellness sanctuary with a sauna, cold plunge, and soaking tub. For après-ski, guests can unwind at the speakeasy-style indoor bar with shuffleboard, enjoy BBQ facilities, or take in Niseko’s clear skies from the rooftop bar and dining terrace.
As Japan’s international profile continues to rise, we’re seeing growing demand for chalets, particularly from multi-generational travellers,” shares Stephanie Chai, Founder and Chief Nomad of The Luxe Nomad. “Space and privacy are key, and I often describe it as having your own ‘mini hotel,’ where you can set your own pace, from breakfast to winding down by the fire."
"In premium chalets, a private driver and car are often included, giving guests the flexibility to explore at their own pace or choose the best ski resort for the day. That freedom to me is a real luxury!"
Beyond Winter: A Year-Round Destination
As Hokkaido emerges as a “coolcation” destination, chalet demand also extends into summer. Guests are drawn to its wholesome outdoor activities - from hiking and cycling to golf - alongside seasonal produce and scenic landscapes, all while enjoying luxury stays at more accessible rates.
In Furano, famous for its lavender blooms, Shiyuki Chalet achieved a 27% increase in bookings driven by rising summer stays. Following Shiyuki’s performance, The Luxe Nomad plans to strengthen its presence in Furano with a new chalet launch later this year.
Yuki Drift
