Get excited! Niseko United has announced the opening dates for its four ski areas ahead of the highly anticipated 25/26 snow season in Japan.
With the southern hemisphere season having just kicked off those already excited to return to the Japow can mark your calendars. Niseko United's four ski resorts have announced their opening and closing dates for the season!
All four resorts are set to open together on November 29th subject to snow conditions.
Know before you go
Those booking early in the season should be aware that unlike in places like Europe and Australia, where due to marginal snow conditions snow guns allow some Resorts to offer limited snow from the very first day - Niseko's resorts do not require snowmaking - so these dates should be noted as the earliest opening time subject to the first big powder dump.
The Niseko United Opening Dates for the 2025/26 Winter Season are as follows:
Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU
Opens November 29, 2025 – May 6, 2026
Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU sits at the top of Hirafu village and is arguably the most well known and popular Niseko resort. With fantastic night skiing, world-class facilities, and amazing après ski you'll need to get in quick to avoid missing out.
Niseko Hanazono Resort
Opens November 29, 2025 – April 12, 2026
With its diverse terrain, luxurious gondolas and renowned powder snow, Hanazono is popular with advanced powder seekers and luxury travellers alike. The village features a stylish central check-in and eating area The Edge with great atmosphere.
Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area
Opens November 29, 2025 – May 6, 2026
Located on the west side of the Niseko United ski area, this resort is a "hidden gem". Known for its long runs, cafe up the slopes and great night skiing.
We recommend laps on the Jumbo Quad for beginners and those who love night skiing and WIDE runs!
Niseko Village Ski Resort
Opens November 29, 2025 – April 12, 2026
Nestled in the middle of the Niseko United area Niseko Village features the longest lift in the area - the Niseko Gondola. A quieter option suitable for more advanced skiers and boarders, the village also hosts a range of events.
All four ski areas can be accessed by the Niseko Bus that operates between the Resorts - meaning you can stay in a central area like Hirafu and see them all!
