The Best Cherry Blossom Sakura Spots in Niseko, Hokkaido
Cherry blossom season is nearly here in Hokkaido with the first blooms due around April 24 (a little earlier than expected).
Rusutsu is one of Japan's best ski resorts, featuring the amazing Japow we all love, without the busy village atmosphere in Niseko Hirafu. It's a true favorite with local and powderhounds alike!
The Resort is located on the opposite side of Mt Yotei from Niseko and is split across three peaks - Mt Isola, East Mountain, West Mountain.
Rusutsu Ski Resort Opening Dates for 23/24 are as follows:
Scheduled open date: Saturday 25th November 2023
Scheduled closing date: Sunday 31st March 2024

The Vale Rusutsu is a ski in ski out hotel located on the West Mountain side adjacent to Kotobuki Onsen and the Resort.

Those booking early in the season should be aware that unlike in places like Europe and Australia, where due to marginal snow conditions snow guns allow some Resorts to offer limited snow from the very first day - Japanese resorts do not typically have snowmaking - so these dates should be noted as the planned opening time subject to the first big powder dump.
