The lift known as "Ace Quad Lift Number 2 Center 4", beloved at Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU Ski Resort since the 1980s, bid a fond farewell last season. Now, it’s being reborn as a cutting-edge gondola, with construction currently progressing smoothly.
The new gondola cabins feature the latest technology, including heated seats and Wi-Fi, with a sleek, transparent design that can hold up to 10 passengers. With a speed increase of about 1.5 times compared to the previous 4-person lift, it will now be capable of transporting 2,800 people per hour. This upgrade is expected to significantly reduce congestion during peak periods, especially during busy holiday seasons.
There will be a total of 54 cabins, two of which will have a special glass-bottom design, sure to become the talk of the slopes as the "lucky gondolas".
On clear days, riders will enjoy stunning views of Niseko as they ascend the mountain. The gondola is set to begin operation on November 30, 2024, with the boarding station located right next to the .Base ticket office. It will follow the same route as the old Ace Quad Lift Number 2 Center 4, with the destination at Rest House Ace Hill.
Operating Period: November 30, 2024 (Saturday) – March 31, 2025 (Monday). Subject to snow conditions.
Hours of Operation: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Night skiing until 7:00 PM).
For more details, please check the official Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU website.
In addition to the newly launched gondola, the Hirafu Gondola is also located near the Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU Mountain Center & Annex. This season, you can enjoy a comfortable time on the slopes with two gondolas at your service.
